Recipe Instructions:

Start by bringing a clean bowl. Add 2 cups of flour and a quarter cup of cocoa powder, then sift both well. Next, add 1 and a half teaspoons of baking soda, a pinch of salt, 1 and a half teaspoons of baking powder, and 1 and a half cups of sugar. Mix all the dry ingredients well, then set them aside.

Mash 2 ripe bananas well using a fork until smooth. Add two whole eggs to the mashed bananas and mix well. Then, add half a cup of olive oil (or 1 cup of melted butter), 1 cup of milk (room temperature), and 1 and a half teaspoons of vanilla extract. Mix well using a hand blender.

Add all the liquid ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix slowly. If needed, add some milk until you reach the desired consistency—not too runny or too thick, just medium consistency.

Grease a cake pan with butter to avoid burning. If you don’t have butter, you can use coconut oil or olive oil. Pour the prepared batter into the tray. Preheat the oven to 180°C for 30 minutes, then bake the cake for 45 minutes at the same temperature. To ensure it is fully cooked, run a knife through the cake.

For the final touches, spread melted white or dark chocolate on top (dark chocolate is a great option). You can also decorate it with rainbow sprinkles or nuts. This is a great activity to do with kids—they can have fun decorating while you enjoy baking together.

Baking Without an Oven:

If you don’t have an oven, bring a big saucepan that can fit your cake pan. Alternatively, use a smaller baking plate to fit inside. On medium heat, place the saucepan on the stove, add two cups of water, and let it boil. Once boiling, place your cake tray inside, ensuring the water does not reach it. Cover with a lid and let it cook for 45–50 minutes. Check from time to time, and add water if needed. After the given time, check with a knife to see if it’s well cooked.

Even without an oven, you can still enjoy baking!
